Rep. Mulligan Honored by Maine Center
April 27, 2005
Maine Center is hosting a Volunteer Recognition Event on Thursday, April 28, 2005 and will be honoring State Representative Rosemary Mulligan for her work on behalf of the mentally ill. Mulligan has been chosen as a recipient of a Maine Center Volunteer Award.
“As the House Republican Deputy Budget Negotiator for Human Services, and minority spokesman for the Human Services Appropriations Committee, I work very closely with mental health care providers, like Maine Center. And I appreciate the invaluable service they provide our communities. So, it is an honor to be recognized by them for my efforts to protect critical funding for programs and services to help the mentally ill as the Department of Human Services transitions to a fee-for-service method of reimbursing providers,” said Mulligan.
Maine Center is a not for profit community behavioral health organization located in the heart of Maine Township. Any resident of Maine Township seeking affordable outpatient counseling and mental health services is eligible. The Maine Center serves Park Ridge, Des Plaines, and parts of Niles, Morton Grove, Glenview and Rosemont.
Fran Hook Hume, Maine Center CEO in a letter to Representative Mulligan wrote, “I know all the hard work you have given to help Maine Center, and all the not for profit organizations in your district over the years – but especially this year with the impending DHS situation. I appreciate your good judgment, ferocious advocacy and support very much.”
Maine Center will be holding their annual Volunteer Recognition Event at 6 p.m. at their office at 819 Busse Highway in Park Ridge. Representative Mulligan is expected to attend the event to receive her award.
