Des Plaines, IL - Demonstrating her commitment to improving the educational curriculum, State Representative Rosemary Mulligan (R-Des Plaines) secured a $25,000 grant for Park Ridge-Niles School District #64.
District 64 Superintendent Sally Pryor said the grant will be used to purchase instructional materials for a new, recently approved support program called Early Intervention/Response to Intervention.
“We’ll use the money to provide reading materials to students who fail to meet benchmark expectations in reading. We’re really pleased. Representative Mulligan has always been so generous to our district,” Pryor said.
An outspoken advocate for education, Representative Mulligan is delighted to see the state funding improve the resources available for school children attending District #64.
“Learning to read is one of the fundamental components of education, but it does not come easily for every child. The new Early Intervention Program will help students who are struggling to learn to read. This program will improve literacy and create a brighter future for the students it serves,” Rep. Mulligan said.
