Mulligan
Joins the House Republican Women's Caucus in Endorsing Daniels
for State Party Chairman
October
15, 2001
State
Representative Rosemary Mulligan (R-Des Plaines) expressed
her unanimity with the rest of the House Republican Women's
Caucus today in announcing their strong endorsement of House
Republican Leader Lee A. Daniels for Chairman of the Illinois
Republican Party. Though unable to attend the announcement
in Springfield, Mulligan believes that Daniels possesses
all the skills essential to lead the Republican Party to
a bright future.
"Lee
has always been one to listen to all views on difficult
topics and work with legislators to get things done. Under
his leadership, House Republicans have passed critical legislation
in the areas of early intervention, crime, education, senior
concerns, tax relief for working families and many other
areas," added Mulligan. "He brings the leadership
qualities necessary to lead the Republican Party into the
21st Century."
If elected,
Daniels will succeed current Illinois Republican Party Chairman
Rich Williamson who will step down to accept an Ambassadorship
to the United Nations. Williamson has urged the selection
of Daniels as his successor. Members of the Republican Women's
Caucus attending today's press conference agreed that Leader
Daniels has the vision, the strength and the energy to lead
the Illinois Republican Party.
Members
of the House Republican Women's Caucus attending today's
press conference included: Representatives Anne Zickus (R-Palos
Hills), Elizabeth Coulson (R-Glenview), Eileen Lyons (R-LaGrange),
Patricia Reid Lindner (R-Sugar Grove), Gwenn Klingler (R-Springfield),
