Mulligan
to Host Tax Assessment Forum for Maine Township
October
19, 2001
To help
residents in completing the tax assessment process for property
in Maine Township, State Representative Rosemary Mulligan
(R-Des Plaines) is hosting a "Tax Assessment Forum"
at the Maine Township Town Hall on Saturday, November 10th,
from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Maine Township Assessor Tom Rueckert
and representatives from Cook County Assessor James Houlihan's
office will join Mulligan to explain and answer questions
about the assessment process.
"This
forum is meant to help those residents who don't understand
the assessment and appeals process and give them the necessary
information to complete the forms on time and without problems,"
said Mulligan.
The
forum, entitled "How to Prepare & Appeal Tax Assessment
Forms (For Beginners)", will feature a presentation
from Cook County Assessor Houlihan's office followed by
a general question and answer session with Maine Township
Assessor Tom Rueckert and the representatives from Houlihan's
office. Later in the program, members from the Taxpayer
Information Department in Assessor Houlihan's office will
set up tables where individuals can ask questions on a one
on one basis.
Houlihan's
office recommends that those in need of individual help
bring their assessment notices and tax bills along.
Rep.
Mulligan urges anyone in need of help with their assessments
to attend the forum at the Maine Township Town Hall, 1700
Ballard Road in Park Ridge. For more information, please
contact Mulligan's office at (847) 297-6533.
